The Heat is On

Sooo many things to catch up on where do I even start! ^ o ^

We are officially settled into our Florida life and I have zero complaints. I have always been a big fan of year round summer and I have to say it's everything I ever hoped it would be! Flowers and wildlife all year? Yes please! As far as the heat goes, it's never too hot for me, honestly the hotter the better! So as summer ends for most of the Northern hemisphere the best weather is only on it's way to Florida and I can't wait :)

July began with my first show in Miami in one of the the most prestigious galleries in Florida! "Fahrenheit" opened July 8th at Art Fusion Galleries and I have to say it was one of the best nights of my life. The turnout was amazing, the reception spectacular, and the response to my art was unbelievably humbling. It was such an honor to be apart of this show. You can still see a few of my pieces on display at the gallery.

Over the summer a friend sent me a link to submit my art to the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series. I figured why not, I would give it a shot, not really expecting to hear back. To my delight and surprise, my piece "Bloom" placed me as regional semi finalist! There will be a group show at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery in Miami in October for all the semi finalists in the area. The winner from there will advance to the finalist show at SCOPE Miami Beach. All my fingers are crossed but I am just happy to have made it this far! There is also an online voting competition which has already begun and runs through November 7th.

You can vote once a day everyday just click the photo of "Bloom" to the left or use this link:

In local news- Ground Floor Farm is a food and community space in historic downtown Stuart. A few months ago they sent out a call to artists to transform their wrap around fencing into a public art gallery through the power of murals! I am pleased to announce that I will have a stretch of that wall space! The project begins October 10th. I will be posting tons of videos and photos of the whole process. The opening reception will be on November 3rd from 6-8pm. If you are local swing by!

In national news- I am so excited to be a part of The Sketchbook Project of the Brooklyn Art Library. I have already received my sketchbook and will begin working on it shortly. The deadline for this round is in March so expect many photos and updates on my social media mainly Instagram: @juliagabrielov.

A few more upcoming events with my art collective Copycat Violence to share today: A Friday The 13th Auction will take place on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/copycatviolence. I will have two spooky oil paintings pieces in this auction. And an online Holiday group show with Hudson Hughes Gallery where I will have two small framed pieces.

I think that is all for now!! More very cool things to share in the coming months but for now enjoy a few pictures from my show at Art Fushion Galleries as well as some other adventures from over the summer!

Much love!
